Agria announces Pet Insurance Scheme specifically for Rehoming and Rescue Centres

Depositphotos_13836849_originalAgria has launched a brand new insurance scheme for rehoming and rescue centres. From 1st March, charities can give 5 weeks free pet insurance with each of their rehomed cats and dogs, providing protection for new owners and the opportunity to raise funds for their organisation.

Significantly, Agria has waived the maximum age limit for a rehomed pet to start an insurance policy. This includes both the period of free cover and, if the owner chooses to continue, the subsequent lifetime policy.

This is a major benefit to the adopters of older animals because of the age restrictions normally applied to pet insurance policies. Agria hopes that by making cover accessible to pets of any age, owners will have fewer concerns over future veterinary bills and therefore be more willing to give pets in rehoming and rescue centres their second chance for a forever home.

Insured animals don’t just give potential new owners more confidence to adopt; access to immediate and long-term pet insurance also makes it less likely for animals to be returned to the rescue centre for care.

Whatever the size, type and set-up of a charity, Agria has a range of options for them to give the animals they’ve protected 5 weeks of free insurance. For organisations using AniLog Welfare Management software, this is via a simple on-screen tick-box that sets up a policy in moments. Non-AniLog users can activate policies simply via a secure connection to Agria’s website.

Then, every time an adopter goes on to continue a policy to full lifetime cover, the charity automatically earns a reward. Rewards accumulate in the charity’s account, ready to fund any expenses of the charity’s choosing – from vet checks to new beds.

“We’re so pleased to be able to give even the oldest pets access to lifetime insurance, and responsible adopters peace of mind over their future veterinary care. We have some great options for charities to set up free cover for the animals they’ve rehomed, no matter their size or set-up,” says Lorraine Tannatt Nash, Partnerships Manager for Agria Pet Insurance.
