Meet Rebecca Long – Print & Production

Photo-R-LongOur customers and the vets we work with often comment on the amazing people we have working at Agria, administrators of Kennel Club Pet Insurance. We make sure our team is full of people who are not only great at their jobs, but have a genuine love of pets and empathy with their owners. And we’d like you to get to know them…

This month, we’re introducing Rebecca Long, who works in the Print and Production team making sure all the literature we send to our customers and partners is correct.

Q. What was your previous job?

A. I am a qualified Reflexologist and was self-employed before joining Kennel Club Pet Insurance. I needed more stability so I was delighted to be offered the role in Print and Production.

Q. Why do you like working at Kennel Club Pet Insurance?

A. Everyone here is very friendly and in my role I interact with all teams in the company, which is great.

Q. What’s the best thing about your job?

A. My role is fairly energetic and I’m rarely sat down for long. I love the fact that the work is very hands on and keeps me fit.

Q. And the most challenging part?

A. The literature that goes into ours packs is changed and updated frequently; dealing with artwork and proof reading needs a good eye for detail.

Q. What did you want to be when you were a child?

A. I wanted to be a Ballet dancer like my Mum. She won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dance and was taught by Margot Fonteyn. I branched into Rhythmic Gymnastics and represented the South of England in the National Team.

Q. What was your first ever job?

A. I worked in a clothes shop in Covent Garden in London.

Q. What kind of pet do you have?

A. I don’t have a pet myself as I have a small garden, but my parents have always had dogs. Sadly only a few weeks ago their dog “Nipper Long” had to be put down.

Q. Does your pet have any special talents?

A. My Dad is an Estate Manager at a large farm and Nipper was very good at rounding up sheep – even though he was a Cairn Terrier.
