Following a highly successful pilot scheme over the summer, Agria Pet Insurance will launch its new eClaims system for all UK veterinary practices from 1st December 2014.
eClaims is just one in a series of initiatives the specialist pet insurer is introducing to make pet insurance easier to manage and more beneficial to veterinary practices and policy holders.
Agria, the leading Swedish pet insurer, has grown rapidly since joining the UK pet insurance market in 2009. Such continued investment into its business channels has enabled its impressive growth in the UK by providing products and a service that are in tune with the challenges faced by vets and the needs of policy holders.
eClaims makes the process of claims handling faster, more accurate and more efficient for both vets and their clients. It replaces the submission of paper-based claims with a sustainable and fast online process that links practice systems directly with Agria’s claims team. As underwriters of Kennel Club Pet Insurance and Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) Cat Insurance, Agria’s eClaims solution supports claims from those policies in addition to Agria Pet Insurance policies.
Powered by the VetEnvoy® system, compatible with most practice management systems, eClaims creates a seamless, secure link between practice management software and Agria. Once an Agria claims handler starts assessing the claim, a notification is sent to the veterinary practice to let them know it is being processed – a unique feature of eClaims. When the outcome of the claim is finalized, a further notification is sent to the vet to let them know the result of the claim.
By reducing practice workload related to claims handling, eClaims is set to further strengthen Agria’s close partnership with the UK’s veterinary sector. Enabling more vets to submit eClaims ensures that vets are kept informed of the status of the claim and speeds up the assessment process.
Kevin Morris, Senior Partner and Head of Technology at Medivet, was involved in Agria’s eClaims pilot.
