Usually, a maximum age limit prevents pets over a certain age from having new insurance policies, but during April, Agria is lifting this restriction. What’s more, for rescue and rehomed pets, this age waiver will be permanent!
As a major sponsor of National Pet Month, Agria’s ‘age amnesty’ complements the event’s focus of promoting responsible pet care and this year’s theme, ‘Pets and the Elderly’.
Making insurance accessible to pets of any age gives owners a chance to make appropriate veterinary care a realistic option throughout their pet’s later years. While the amnesty for all pets is just for National Pet Month, Agria’s new service for Rehoming and Rescue Centres helps older rescue pets for the long-term. Now charities can work in partnership with Agria to give every animal they rehome 5 weeks of free insurance followed by guaranteed eligibility for continued cover, no matter what their age.
Christian Romeril, National Veterinary Sales Manager for Agria, says, “As with humans, the range of conditions pets suffer with as they age grows significantly. Without pet insurance in place, paying for the appropriate treatment can be very difficult for owners and a barrier to potential adopters of older rescue pets.”
Romeril continues, “Agria’s April Age Amnesty and new Rescue and Rehoming initiatives aim to give reassurance to owners and would-be owners of older pets that they could have help with vets’ bills as the years pass.”
As a registered charity itself, National Pet Month is dedicated to raising awareness of good pet care and motivating people to give to deserving animal charities. Any animal charity can benefit, from the largest national organisations to the smallest local pet rescue.
Make sure you mention Agria’s age amnesty to any clients you see during April with older pets and look out for National Pet Month events and activities near you at www.nationalpetmonth.org.uk and through the National Pet Month Facebook family www.facebook.com/nationalpetmonth, www.facebook.com/joinscratchingpost and www.facebook.com/joinparkbench
