Wilson is a five year old Welsh Springer Spaniel who’s had a pet insurance policy with us since he was a puppy. When he had to make an unexpected visit to the vet at Christmastime, Wilson’s policy enabled his owner to instantly authorise the best treatment for him.
When Wilson’s owner realised something was wrong with his neck, she took him straight to his vet, who discovered the skin mass she could feel was an apocrine ductal adenoma.
Wilson underwent a general anaesthetic and surgery to remove the mass, and soon began to make a good recovery.
Despite this situation taking place over the Christmas and New Year period, and the claim being received by us on New Year’s Eve, we had assessed and authorised a settlement of £719.17 just seven working days later.
