Here at Agria, we love all horses. They add so much to our lives and deliver us such joy on a daily basis. And for us all, there is usually one that holds a very special place in our hearts, that one in a million that just grabs us like no other and creates a bond that lasts a lifetime. We think it's time we celebrated those special souls and all that they do for us. From some of the most famous horses in the country to your own little hero who changed your life, we want to honour those horses and ponies who make the greatest impact. We want to know what makes them your horse of a lifetime.

Could your Horse of a Lifetime be the next winner?

Tell us about your special horse and what makes them your horse of a lifetime, and you could win our seasonal prize and a nomination for the Agria Horse of a Lifetime award at the prestigious Horse & Hound Awards in November!

The first winner of Agria Horse of a Lifetime in 2022 was none other than Carltonlima Emma. This little Fell Pony became the pin-up girl for all happy hacking ponies carrying our late Queen as her hack for some 15 years.

Our most recent winner in 2025 was Hovis, the part-Clydesdale horse whose humorous weekly blogs (written with the help of his owner) eventually raised many thousands of pounds for local charities including Bransby Home of Rest for Horses, the RDA and others.

How it works:

Entries may be made at any time from 1st June 2026.

Every two months we will shortlist four Horse of a Lifetime entrants from those entered who will each win a special edition rosette and Agria Anton keyring.

Shortlists will be drawn on the following dates: 31/07/2026, 30/09/2026, 30/11/2026.

We will share the shortlisted stories and pictures on our social media channels before revealing the winner.

The chosen Horse of a Lifetime winner will be awarded a voucher for a personalised Stable Name Plate OR a Love Louie horse hamper.

All shortlisted Horses of a Lifetime will be nominated by Agria for the Agria Horse of a Lifetime award at the annual Horse & Hound awards in November.

Shortlist entrants will be asked to supply a photograph that we can share on our social media channels.

Photos submitted must be owned by the entrant - this means photos you have taken yourself, not purchased from a professional photographer. OR, if the image was not taken by you, then you must have permission from the image owner/photographer for the image to be posted on Agria's social media and used in the Agria Horse of a Lifetime competition.

If there are other people in the image with your Horse of a Lifetime, it’s vital to have their permission (or parent’s permission) for their image to be shared with us before you send us the photograph.

Competition Terms and Conditions – Agria Horse of a Lifetime 2026

These terms and conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. Participants of the promotion agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. 

This competition is open to residents in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man who are aged at least 18 years who meet the terms and conditions to qualify. Employees of Agria Pet Insurance Ltd and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.

The Promoter is Agria Pet Insurance Ltd. Agria Pet Insurance Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority; Financial Services Register Number 496160. Agria Pet Insurance Ltd is registered and incorporated in England and Wales with registered number 4258783. Registered office: First Floor, Blue Leanie, Walton Street, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP21 7QW.

Entrants must submit their story to the Agria Horse of a Lifetime entry form via the link found on the page: https://www.agriapet.co.uk/horse-of-a-lifetime/ or via social media communications.

Photos submitted to the competition must be owned by the entrant or have permission from the person who owns the copyright - this applies to all photos purchased from a professional photographer. Any entrants found to be using an image without the rights or permission to do so, will be disqualified. Any photos submitted may be used by Agria Pet Insurance Ltd for marketing purposes.

The competition opens on 01/06/26 and submissions will remain open until 30/11/26. Every two months four horses will be shortlisted. Only one entry will be accepted per person per two-month period. The same person may re-enter the following period. Entrants that have reached the shortlist stage are not eligible to enter again.

Four shortlisted horses will be selected by a panel of judges (a list of which is available on request) on the following dates: 31/07/2026, 30/09/2026, 30/11/2026. The shortlisted horses will be posted on Facebook and Instagram, and the final winner will be chosen by the judges on a date outlined in the corresponding social media posts for each period.

The prize for each of the shortlisted entries will be a special edition Agria rosette and Agria Anton Keyring.

The prize for each winner will be a choice of:

a personalised Stable Name Plate with a portrait of the winning horse (supplied via Jayvee Art & Photography), OR;

an Agria Horse Hamper (supplied by Love Louie)

Prizes will be awarded to one winner during each two-month period for the duration of the competition.  The prize for the winner will be delivered as a voucher for use at https://www.jayveeartandphotography.com/ OR https://www.lovelouie.co.uk/ . Agria Pet Insurance Ltd and Jayvee Art & Photography/Love Louie maintain full control of the product type and size. 

The shortlisted entrants and subsequent winner will be contacted as soon as reasonably possible after being selected through the email address submitted on the entry form. They will be required to provide a UK postal address.

The shortlisted entrants and winner will receive their prize within 30 days after providing a valid UK postal address, unless events occur outside of Agria Pet Insurance Ltd’s control. Once they have received their voucher, the winner must contact Jayvee Art & Photography OR Love Louie directly to redeem their prize.

All shortlisted Horses of a Lifetime who feature as part of the competition will be entered for the Agria Horse of a Lifetime award at the annual Horse & Hound awards in November 2026.

Any photographs depicting any animals in unsuitable or unsafe environments, or considered by Agria Pet Insurance Ltd to be inappropriate, will be removed and the entrant may be disqualified. Any comments considered by Agria Pet Insurance Ltd to be inappropriate or offensive will be removed and the entrant will be disqualified.

Should Agria Pet Insurance Ltd be unable to contact the winner or should the winner be unable to accept the prize, Agria Pet Insurance Ltd reserves the right to award the prize to an alternative winner, drawn in accordance with these terms and conditions.

All elements of the prize are subject to availability, non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives. If product becomes unavailable it will be replaced by a product of similar or higher quality.

The shortlisted entrants and winner may be asked to participate in promotional activity related to the competition. Participation is optional.

Agria Pet Insurance Ltd reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual that does not adhere to these terms and conditions or who tampers with the entry process.

Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prize impossible due to reasons beyond the control of Agria Pet Insurance Ltd and accordingly Agria Pet Insurance Ltd may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to Agria Pet Insurance Ltd as a result thereof.

If for any reason any aspect of this cannot run as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of Agria Pet Insurance Ltd which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition, Agria Pet Insurance Ltd may in its sole discretion modify or suspend the competition or invalidate any affected entries.

Agria Pet Insurance Ltd and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this promotion or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law.

Any question concerning the legal interpretation of the rules will be based on English law and the Courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.
