World Animal Day 2025: Save Animals, Save the Planet

Every year in October people across the globe come together for World Animal Day. It’s a special day to celebrate the animals who share our world and to take action to protect them. This year’s theme, “Save Animals, Save the Planet”, feels especially powerful. It reminds us that animal welfare and environmental protection are connected, and that by caring for one, we care for both.

Animals enrich our lives in countless ways. From the pets who are part of our families to the wildlife that sustains ecosystems, their wellbeing is tied to our own. But animals are facing growing pressures, from habitat loss and biodiversity decline, to the impacts of climate change. Protecting them means protecting the very systems that sustain life on Earth.

At Agria, this isn’t just a one-day message. We are proud that animal welfare is at the heart of our business, and it’s woven through everything we do. Our premium pet insurance policies do more than just cover costs, through our work we are improving lives, promoting preventive care, and helping build a more sustainable future for animals, their people, and the planet.

Our commitment in action

Supporting welfare: In the last year alone, Agria has supported dozens of welfare organisations, from those providing veterinary care for pets in vulnerable situations to organisations protecting biodiversity. Every policy helps us extend that impact further.

Promoting preventive care: By enabling early intervention, we help pets stay healthier for longer, reducing suffering and building resilience.

Connecting climate and welfare: Our sustainability strategy has grown from the knowledges that a healthy planet is key to animal wellbeing. From planting trees and restoring ecosystems, to cutting our own emissions, we’re committed to tackling the root causes of harm.

How you can help this World Animal Day

World Animal Day is for everyone, and small actions add up to big change. Here are a few simple ways pet owners and animal lovers can take part:

  • Choose welfare-first care: Regular check-ups, healthy diets, and plenty of exercise all support your pet’s long-term wellbeing.
  • Support local shelters and charities: Donations, volunteering, or even sharing their stories online can make a real difference.
  • Reduce your impact: From avoiding single-use plastics to using Agria’s Carbon Pawprint Calculator, making more sustainable choices helps protect the environments that animals depend on.
  • Spread the word: Share what World Animal Day means to you, whether that’s celebrating your pet, raising awareness about a cause, or inspiring others to take action.

A shared future

This World Animal Day, we’re proud to stand alongside our customers, welfare partners, and communities to shout about the wellbeing of animals everywhere. Because when animals thrive, people and the planet thrive too.

At Agria, we believe that protecting animals is not just our purpose, it’s our responsibility. Together, we can make everyday World Animal Day.
