Tom McEwen joins the Agria stable

Double Olympic team gold medallist Tom McEwen will join his Olympic teammate Ros Canter in the Agria family, along with fellow event rider Kirsty Chabert, World team bronze medal winning showjumper Joe Stockdale, fellow jumper Mark Edwards, Paralympic dressage champion Natasha Baker and European team gold medal-winning dressage rider Gareth Hughes and family.
Tom, who is based at Gatcombe in Gloucestershire, is also a former FEI World No 1 event rider, and won individual silver in Tokyo on Toledo de Kerser. He is renowned for being a brilliant rider and all-round horseman, and as such has been the rider of choice to take the reins for both Ros Canter and Zara Tindall when they took a break from riding to have a baby.
Agria UK’s CEO, Vicki Wentworth, says: “We could not be more pleased to welcome Tom to the Agria stable. Everyone knows that he is a brilliantly instinctive and hard-working rider, but we also love the way he goes above and beyond to understand his horses and their needs, which perfectly complements Agria’s own focus on welfare and helping every horse and rider to live their happiest life.”
Tom added: “I’m very honoured to be joining such an illustrious group of Agria riders, and to be working with a company which does so much to support horse welfare and equestrianism from top to bottom.
“As a British Team eventer, it’s been very exciting to see Agria supporting the sport at Osberton, Badminton and now Blenheim as title sponsor, and through its partnerships with the FEI and British Equestrian’s World Class programme. I very much look forward to working more closely with Agria, to help inspire riders everywhere, and help build awareness of the unique benefits of lifetime insurance.”
