Meet Neil Partington, a Solution Architect at Agria
I joined Agria in September 2025.
What does your job role involve?
Technology drives all companies and Agria is no different, with a drive to harness cloud technologies, improve customer interactions, reduce costs and maximise the services offered.
My role is to transform the wants and needs of the business (and the customer) into technical solutions that can be delivered.
It’s a never ending role because Agria will never stand still but will keep growing and competing in a competitive market.
Why did you choose Agria?
Rather than being an established large company that is stuck in its ways, Agria is small enough to adapt to changes in the market and offer a service that puts the customer first. It is also big enough to be financially stable and benefit from support from Agria Sweden, it’s a business that is not wholly profit driven but has cares about the animals they insure.
I believe that Agria are in an enviable position of having exciting growth whilst still being able (and desiring) to put the welfare of their customers, pets and employees first, a very rare business in the modern world.
As an animal lover myself, I can relate to Agria’s mission and have a desire to help them achieve their goals, an outlook that is mirrored by the numerous staff that have stayed with Agria for many years.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and if you own any pets.
I have always liked animals; my first dog was a stray that had been dumped from a car. Nowadays we volunteer for the hearing and guide dog organisations where we look after their dogs on temporary and semi-permanent basis. We have trained 5 dogs over periods greater than a year before handing them over to their recipients and we have looked after more than 20 dogs on a temporary basis.
As an engineer and a bit of a ‘petrol head’ I enjoy restoring cars and bikes, starting with an old Vespa, I then restored an 1980’s Austin Mini and am now part way into a 1975 Ford Escort “restomod”.
My career has always been in engineering, starting as an apprentice in Manchester, I have progressed through many sectors of industry including financial institutions and stock trading companies, a stint at the Home Office and even a couple of years building an electric EV 16t truck.
