Meet Mark Edwards

For Mark, producing talented showjumpers is very much a family affair. Based in Llandow, near Cowbridge in South Wales, Mark works alongside his father, Martyn, at their busy family yard, where they breed, back and produce horses from youngsters through to international Grand Prix level.

The Edwards family has been breeding and producing performance horses for almost 40 years, and some of Mark’s greatest successes have come aboard horses bred and produced at home. These include Montreuxs Tale, with whom he claimed his first major title in the Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Hickstead in 2021, and Flying Tinker II, one of the most consistent and successful horses on the British circuit.

Known for his speed against the clock, Mark has earned a reputation as one of the most formidable riders in a jump-off. His results include multiple victories at Horse of the Year Show, three Welsh Masters Grand Prix titles, the National 1.40m Championship and back-to-back British Speed Derby victories at Hickstead.

Mark has also made his mark internationally. In 2025, he made his Longines League of Nations debut and claimed his first CSI3* Grand Prix victory with Dillinger NE at Chard.

His success is built on patience, consistency and an instinctive understanding of his horses, many of whom he has known and helped produce from the beginning of their careers.
